We do not want any genuine Autonomy rather we wants complete independence from China. We demand for our homeland. We differs spiritual leader Dalai Lama on this crucial question of autonomy and independence.
Tenzin Tsundue is one of the leaders of a pro-independence march from Dharmasala, India to the border of Tibet. The walk, which they hope to complete just before the start of the Beijing Olympics in August, was stopped just as it began last week when Indian police arrested participants.
Tibetan Youth Congress activist Tenzin Tsundue who organized “free Tibet” marches around the world was arrested at Aut 45 Km away from Mandi in Mandi-Kullu road while he was on his march to Tibet during for an international call for boycotting the Beijing Olympic in Aug 2008.
The police had arrested him in Foreigner Act, 1946 for not informing the Registration Officer at Dharmshala within 14 days about his movement. The young activist was charged and prosecuted for violations under section 14(c) of said Act by the Court of Judicial Magistrate, court number1, Mandi.
After acquittal in this case, 37-year-old Tibetan activist and writer Tenzin while talking to the ‘Daily Post’ said that Dalai Lama's demand for authentic autonomy from China is "wishful thinking." On non-violent method, there's no disagreement with His Holiness," Tenzin said. "There is this difference that I see, and especially among the younger generation of Tibetans who are saying, no compromise on independence."
Tenzin Tsundue, a poet, writer and a noted Tibetan freedom activist said we want to approach the struggle is confrontational but at the same time non-violent. We want to confront the Chinese dictators and try to address the injustice they are placing on the Tibetans.
Interestingly, Tenzin visited Tibet once when he went in without permission in 1997. Tenzin, then 22, was eventually caught by police, jailed for three months for being a "foreigner" and sent back to India.
During his radical political struggle against china for ‘free Tibet’ he got himself arrested 18 times which includes showing flags to Chinese President and Prime Ministers during their visits in India.
